NO Wet Suits for Big Guys?

Im about 5'9" and around 230 pounds I can't seem to find a cold water wet suit to fit. Anybody got any info on a suit that would fit me and is suitable to cold (32o) water?

Wet suits aren't really good down to that temp anymore. Most recommendations are for dry suits below 55 degrees.

Having said that... you might try scuba.com They have sizes from xxs - xxl in short, regular and tall versions.

If you do go with a wet suit, a "farmer john" style (like bibbed overalls) gives you a double layer on your torso.

When I was young I use to work for BailySuits. We made skin diving suits. We would get custom orders all the time. They would get your messurements and it was made exactaly like you wanted. We made one for Lee Magors, but the one we did for Ann Margret was vavavavoommmm LOL She had a nude seen in a movie and so we made a flesh colored one for her. The waist was so very tiny and the bust was huge. I also made probaly 1000's of survival suits. You know those big orange one with all the flash tape on them. They were alot easier than the reg. skin diving suits. I don't think Baily is in business anymore. When I was there the owner was elderly and when he and is wife went on a trip skin diving she drowned. In about 7 feet of water no less. Somthing about her panicing comming in. I always thought it was a bit odd as he remarried a women half his age just a few months later. But maybe he was just very lonly because he was married for almost 30 years.

So is there any big trick to sewing a wet suit? Could I just buy the material and have a local girl sew one up for me?

You could try Rose City Textiles in Portaland, OR to find out about sewing on it and buy the material there.
