Lising your location would help us answer your question.

a Local seed distributer. Of course if you were more specific about where you are we could be much more specific about where to buy.
Chances are no mater where you are someone on here knows not only the best local store but the phone number, who to talk to, and what they have in stock!

Depends where you are. I'm a local dealer for an Ontario forage company, there are lots of local companies in different areas and some of the bigger companies carry forages as well.

You'd probably spend as much or more on shipping as on the seed itself

In NW Washington you could get a good deal at Quality Seeds West by cross border shopping in BC (Surrey or Langley). They have a good selection for whatever your conditions, useful staff. www.qualityseedswest.com

Albert Lea Seed House is good in the north-central USA. ( alseed.com ) Shipping to that distance wouldn't be practical tho. Lots of stuff available there tho!

Local farm supply stores like a TSC or Fleet & Farm type often carry a few bags this time of year.

You said you want bulk, what does that mean?

We are planting 50 acres of hay on our farm this spring. That will require 750 lb alfalfa, 250 lb Orchardgrass, and 100 lb Timothy. Everything comes in 50 lb bags.

Since you did not provide quantity information I assume you are not planting the hay for a business so I would not worry so much about the perceived 'bulk' pricing advantage. I received a substantial discount on my seed purchase but my bill was over $4000 before and I bought a significant amount of seed and the most up-to-date genetics to maximize profitability on our farm.

I'd go to TSC and get what they have or takes others suggestions.

Jim
