Seeds: Best prices? Good quality? Please assist.

We had planned on ordering our sees from Heirloom acres Seeds, however, there prices have went up about 1.00 a pound. They still have relatively good prices overall, but I thought you all might know of a good company with good prices on seeds.

Ex. White half runners are now 4.75 for 1 pound, were 3.75, same for pintos and kidney beans, etc.

Thanks.

Not sure about quantities but you should look at Pinetree seeds https://www.superseeds.com/ or Fedco Seeds http://www.fedcoseeds.com/

Baker Creek http://rareseeds.com/ probably has the same price with better quality and more selection.

If you want to "try" something try Artistic Gardens https://www.artisticgardens.com/catalog/ They have cheap small quanity seed packages (for trying or for some herbs you only need a little).

When it comes to seeds you tend to get what you pay for. Seed prices have really gone up. I spent over $600 on mail order seeds this morning. I used Johnny's, Harris , Territorial Seeds and Veseys. Pinetree is good but they do not have bulk prices.

I've bought seeds from Baker's Creek (kinda' pricey) and received those already. Also placed a order (over $100) with Heirloom Acres Seeds (same day as Baker's Creek) and haven't received it yet.....but as far as I could see H.A.S. has the best prices on bulk seeds. Keeping my fingers crossed that the seeds arrive quickly as I need to get them started.
My plan is save seeds from produce this fall so I won't have to keep spending $$$$ on seeds every year.

I get most of my seeds from Morgan County Seeds(www.morgancountyseeds.com). Their seeds are one of the cheapest around but also very good quality and I have had no problems with them. They are located just 15 miles from here so I have gotten to know them pretty well and are very trustworthy. They are are small family run business which I really like and if you have any kind of gardening question they will go out of their way to help you out. They don't have as much organic seed as some do but are starting to get a nice selection in. It does seem like seed prices have went up and Morgan County Seed said in their catalog they had been a shortage of certain varieties of beans due to crop failures. Most likely probaly due to the wet summer.

We use Territorial for all of our seeds, but that is because they are about 3 miles up the road from us so no shipping. Good luck on your search!

We use William Dam Seeds and Dominion seeds..... both Canadian companies so you'll have an advantage on the exchange rate. Dominion ships on the dollar amount purchased so we get our potato seeds through them plus others of course.

I ordered from Heirloom Acres also. It was back towards the end of fall, and it took about a month for the seeds to get to me, and half of them were on back order. I had to email them about a month ago to see if I was ever going to get the rest of them. They emailed back saying thanks for reminding them about the back order and they would check to see what was in...I got the rest of my seeds about a week later. Hopefully you get your in time.

I appreciate all the input. I have been able to find some good local deals on about 1/3 of the seeds we wanted, but am still gonna have to order some. OUr local Mennonite community had some real good buys on seed potatoes, onion sets, and beans, as a side note.
