Breckwell Big E pellet stove

I have the Breckwell Big E pellet stove. For a while it has been shutting off and either the # 2 or # 3 light has been flashing. It's hard to tell which light is flashing because it splays.
The fan on the left ( facing the stove) was not working.
I had a repair person out this morning, he looked at it while I had it running and said the fan was frozen(seized). So I paid him the 220.00 to order it. He is coming back on Thursday. But after about 8 hrs the fan just started going again and the stove is running just fine.
I am wondering if it just needs oil or if something else is going on.
I am concerned because the repair person did not do any tests. The stove manual explains that you should use an electrical tester to rule out any problems with the control board.
I don't want to just plug in parts, I can probably do that myself.
In addition to the 220.00 for the part, the labor is 125.00 to replace the part.
I have a call in to Breckwell and will hope to hear from them tomorrow.
Any thoughts, advice?
Thanks
