Greenhouse from 2 liters (not how you think!)

This is one of the neatest ideas I have seen in a while. Check it out:

Kind of a cool idea! Lots of work, but cool. Being as how we don't drink pop tho' it'll never materialize in our backyard!

Cool idea. Those kids needed a little more adult supervision, like a hunky shirtless dude in a kilt.

I like this. If I built one I'd use the bottles and water for insulation and wrap the greenhouse with 6 ml poly. This is cool. I wish we had clear bottles.

I wonder where they got all those bottles! We couldn't drink that much soda in a decade!

i could probably load a truck with those from my local recycling tranfer station. the last time i was there was between christmas and new year's day and there was a heap of recyclables 10 feet high and 25 feet wide.

i wonder what the canes are? i bet bamboo would work well. my neighbor has bamboo...hmmm.

what do you mean breezy ?? You mean wearing the kilt ??!! You could tone it down and make a small hot house for early seedlings or greens in the early spring and I suppose you could go to a recyclying center and buy their bottles from them. A different idea..but a neat one.

I saw this on another forum yesterday, and thought it seemed like a neat idea, but the plastic bottles wouldn't last long out in the sun. It's a lot of work to put into something perishable. How about glass bottles? Or better yet, just build the frame and cover it with fiberglass, or with clear plastic. I think I might use fiberglass on the roof and clear plastic on the walls (we get too much snow to put plastic on the roof -- I could replace the plastic on the walls with fiberglass later, as we could afford it).
