Stone House - We've Been Working

We've gotten a bit more done on the Stone House tear out. I know it's going to take awhile, but oh my. It's hard when it's just my and hubby working on it. Thought you'd like to see our progress.

I can see so much difference from when you started! You guys are doing a great job, and your son-in-law sounds like a real blessing!

Are you going to insulate all your exterior walls? If you are tearing out paneling and drywall, it is the perfect time to do it right!

I am so excited for you and your new/old stone house!

Yes we are going to insulate all the outside walls. Hubby managed to find some more free insulation from a neighbor who just finished putting up a steel building. Very nice of him to give it to us.

GOOD job !!!
As far as that bearing wall..I'd recommend that you certainly check your plans with a builder/contractor before you go whacking on that..LOL..when I was involved in renovating very old homes I discovered that anything is possible..if you have enough $..you might end up having to put in two sturdy "posts" as well as a new header..or..maybe not..

Boston: That's what we're thinking. A few good posts should make it possible.
