Rain gear suggestions

I picked up some good info from responses to another poster on wet weather foot weather here recently and that prompted me to ask this. What suggestions are out there for wet weather wear for outer clothing? I have warm clothing for layering under the rain gear. TIA

I love ponchos, the kind with the hood attached. If they're not long enough though, the rain drips off the back and onto the backs of your legs.

Good ones are strong and have good snaps.

You might want something else if it's windy, though!

(We have wind and almost no rain, but there are ponchos up in the closet!)

I end up working out in the rain a lot. I recommend a breathable rain jacket with a zipper front. I'd go with unlined pants... make sure they have large zippers on the ankles so you can get them on and off over boots.

For the past year I've been wearing a Frogg Togg rain jacket. I bought the outfit (jacket & overalls) from Bass Pro on sale I think for around $40.00+-. The material is lightweight and is holding up well - it only sees light use so I don't know how well it would hold up under abuse.

If you can find a Military surplus store, the green wet weather, bib overall pants and hooded jacket, are really good and can usually be purchased for pretty cheap.

I recommend Grundens. Their rain gear is favorite with commercial fisherman up here. I have a pair of bibs and a jacket that have lasted for years.
