Greenhouse plans

Good evening.

I am, all of a sudden, needing a greenhouse. The onset of really cold weather (at least for a southerner), a lack of patience with our dogs doing their thing in the car garage, and a general lack of better forethought on my part has created a sense of urgency in putting up a small greenhouse.

Does anyone have plans for a low-cost, free-standing greenhouse that I could let two dogs go in and out of at their pleasure, put in a heat lamp, and might also hold a vermicomposting pallet?

Thanks.

Irv

You should be able to find one to suit you from this list of greenhouses.

Head to the FarmTek website and take a look at theirs. If I only had a spare $3k.

If you just want the framework (hoops) and plastic, go to a greenhouse supply place (a real one, not FArmTek) and price them.

You could put up fencing, chain link or cattle, put plastic (or whatever it is they use on dairy barns) against the fencing, then put a roof over it using greenhouse plastic. You can leave the area between the roof and walls open so it doesn't get too hot. An enclosed greenhouse can get quite warm. It gets quite cold here, so I would guess that you are not going to want your dog yard completely enclosed. When the weather warms up, you should be able to remove the plastic and roll it up, setting it in a safe place until next winter.

One reason for using fencing with the plastic on the outside, is the unreliability of dogs to keep their paws off the walls. Greenhouse plastic is tough, but too expensive to have dogs tearing holes in it.
