Question Fishing Lure Christmas Tree

Just when I thought I had an original idea someone else has done it.

My Great Uncle use to hang hot dogs from their Christmas tree. Do you have any unusual things that you hang from your tree?

I'm really traditional, but a friend of my son's did that the last couple of years. Everything on his tree was either hunting or fishing related, camouflage, or had something to do with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour guys...he especially loves Larry the Cable Guy! In fact, he's coming here soon, and I had to jump online a couple of weeks ago when they started selling tickets and grab six for them before they ran out, lol. I was the only one free enough during that time of the day to do it.

My grandmother always had a little decorated box that she hung on her tree, near the top. It contained the finger bone of her first child (died at age 2, on Christmas eve). I always thought that was a bit...odd. Fortunately, she put it in a box and didn't just hang it like an ornament.....

That does sound a little odd, but very touching too. I'm sure it gave her great comfort through the years.

Some years ago, I knew an older quite Southern lady that used her minature teacup collection as tree ornaments. It was a really beautiful way to display her collection.

I've been to a few benefits that sold themed Christmas trees/ornaments for charity. One theme tree was adorned with office supplies. It was really original and cute and sold quickly. Paper clips linked together make some nice decorations.

The wife used to have a theme tree every year.
She did the fishing bit, had little fishing hats, lures, canoes,
Then one year it was all red and silver
then one year it was all kids stuff, little hats and mittens sleds.
Now we just have a jumble of everything, I like a "messy" tree.
