We replaced all of our 37 windows with Home Depot a few years ago. I love them, and their lifetime guarantee is for real. We've replaced a sash, broken by the kids, and several screens that we installed incorrectly in the upstairs windows...they fell out. No problem, they either brought us a new one or shipped it to us.

I would go with low E windows for the thermal properties. As for style, it depends on what you like and what you can afford. I personally don't like the metal grids between the glass that try to emulate individual panes. If you have a lovely view outside, I personally wouldn't choose to clutter it up.

Did the power guy ever show up?

We know a lineman in PA, and he was telling us how backlogged the power companies are. A family building a house scheduled the power guys the day they BROKE GROUND. The house was built, they moved in, but they ended up having to use a generator for weeks cuz the power guys couldn't get there until then. I hope that doesn't happen to you!
