Very nice looking stove & room. It's a nice feeling to know you can be warm without it costing you a fortune isn't it?

That is really beautiful, but you were right! That room needs a couple of nice recliners!

I think the orange thing is a pumpkin..but my question is...how do you keep the white tiles white and will they break when,,as we all do, dump the wood on the floor??..or what kind of tiles are they ??

lol..CF, it is a pumpkin (no fire in there at the time of this pic).

I wondered about the white tiles, too. after we put them down (of course I thought of this AFTER), I started wondering if they will yellow or discolor. time will tell. they are ceramic tile, and don't laugh at me....but we never bring wood in. I get it going, (I am a neat freak, so I stack them one at a time. no mess) then just grab a log (right outside the back door on the covered porch) when I need one. (hub made a nice woodbox for storage) it's a bug phobia. hey...I said don't laugh. LOL

Wondering how big of a chain saw did you use to cut the roof off so you could take a big looking down into your house?

I took the picture from the upstairs bedroom.

Windyjem...hubby cut a hole in the fireplace damper, then put the stove piping up thru the existing chimney. it did limit our selection of woodstove (in our area especially. as is we had to travel to find one store that carried what we needed), as it has the piping coming out of the back instead of the top. I like that it doesn't stick out that far in our small space.
