Mowing Day at the Stone House

Today was mowing day at the Stone House. And we found plants!

Little Thought.....

YEARS ago, they used to plant a lilac tree to mark where the "septic" was....

Wow I didn't know that. Thanks for that bit of info. It's a bit too close to the house to be a septic though and I am sure they had an outhouse on the property that we think we have found. Only time will tell when we have the time to investigate it further.

Hard to tell from the angle of your pic, but I'd say you either have lilies or irises.

It looks like what you are doing is a lot of fun! Congrats.

Don't you love plant surprises? There are definitely irises on the right side of the pic, hard to tell on the left if that's the same thing.

We're in Southeast Colorado. Thanks so much all for reading my blog on the Stone House. I'll keep you posted on any new finds or pictures I think the flowers might be iris too. Guess we'll see in the spring when they bloom.

If you are in CO you want to keep that cistern and your rainwater collection plans SECRET, because all rainfall on the eastern slope of CO legally belongs to KS.

There have been threads here about it, IIRC.
