skeleton hay elevator $$?

How much would a used 18' skeleton hay elevator go for in your area? It has a 1/2 hp electric motor and it works. I haven't looked at it so I don't know if the links are stretched or anything. Anyhow, what sort of price would you expect on this thing?

The link shows a reasonably comparable product in a new elevator. A general rule of thumb for pricing used farm equipment tools of this class(assuming they are serviceable and in good repair) is "one half the price of new".

I have tried to sell the one that was in our barn, then tried to give it away. It is waiting for the next trip with a truckload of scrap metal to go to the salvage yard. Ours went vertically up the end of the barn, about 30 feet or more, and then went the length of the 60 foot barn. I salvaged the 2 motors from it and looks like I will scrap out the rest of it.

I asked about hay elevators here about a week ago, as there's one listed near me for $370. 18' w/6' extension. I was told that if it's in good working condition, that's fair. I was going to call on it this weekend, but then I saw WisJim's post, and what he has would work really well on a building I've got here but couldn't use before because no way to lift stuff upstairs... I had no idea such a thing existed!

Jim, I sent you a PM.
