PetSafe wireless question
I asked this in my other thread about containment systems, but thought I'd better start a new thread so more people would see it...
I now have another question for those who use the petsafe wireless. I was reading about it on-line and saw that it is supposed to be plugged in somewhere that doesn't get below freezing. Does it just quit working if it gets that cold or does it damage the unit?
Our dog has a stall in the barn where she sleeps overnight. She also is in there when we aren't home...I don't think it's very responsible to leave her loose while we're not here, so we pen her up. However, I let her out as soon as I get up in the morning and she is loose all day when I am here. We have 10 acres (more farmland surrounding us) and I'd like to fence in the entire thing for her, but I know that's not going to happen.
Until I saw the thing about the temperature, I was planning to plug it in the shop because that is the center of our yard. Our house is only about 30 feet from the road. If I plug it in the house, I'll have to turn down the distance available to her and she won't be able to go to the barn if she so desires during the day. I guess I could just try it in the shop and see how the coldness effects it.
Any ideas for me?
P.S. Hubby wants to know how long the batteries last in the collar.
