ULTIMATE Back Scratcher

The ultimate back scratcher - one of the green (or grey or..) astro-turf like door mat. The one that looks like little crowns of plastic about an inch high and usually comes with a plastic flower on it. Well you get one and lay it on the bed. Remove shirt and GENTLY lay you back on the mat. Gently squirm your back and you will get a wonderful all over back scratch. Its out of this world - much better than a wife or girlfriend - gets the whole back at once.

A length of rope with knots tied in it works well too as you can specifically move it to any spot that needs attention. Idea courtesy of Six Toes Feed and Seed circa 1995.

The ultimate back scratcher

I vote for the wife or girlfriend. I don't care if she takes all night to find the right spot.

A plastic horse sweat scraper is AWESOME. It curves just right so you can get under the shoulderblade or in the small of the back without contorting your arm too far over your shoulder.

Nah - you really need to try the astroturf mat. Once you do you'll never go back. Part of the reason is that after you use the spoon to scratch, then you invariably itch somewhere else. With the mat everything on the back has been scratched at the same time.

Yeah that sounds great. I would LOVE for my hubby to do my back but he expects "certain things" afterwards. No thanks

"so just how does someone arrive at the discovery, inquiring minds want to know who lays on an Astroturf floor mat?!?!?!?"

Aboard ship one has to figure out how to get things done and done right. Not the same if you have to ask another sailor to scratch your itch - if you know what I mean. BTW - take your shoes and socks off and try a foot scratch/massage on one of these mats too - the feeling can be .......

I have an old dull pocket knife. Every now and then, I get my husband to "shave" my back with it, very carefully. It removes the dry skin, which is what causes the itch. He shows me the blade afterwards, and it is covered with dandruff-like dead skin. My husband has bitten his fingernails for almost 50 years, so these days all he has is cuticle.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that my husband married me to get his back scratched. If he doesn't get his back scratched at least every other day, he gets grumpy.
