Walnut prices

We've been holding off on cutting our walnut trees for several years but want to get rid of them this year (walnuts make pigs sick). Does anyone know if prices are up or down right now for walnut logs.

you need top notch walnut trees to get top dollar. of course, my local mill has all the lumber it needs and is always just doing you a favor by purchasing your trees.

355-1440 in Middle TN.
Contact the forestry department and they will have the current pricing.
Depending on your ground you may use the web and see if you can find Stock manufacturers if your trees are really good. The differents is that they want you to cut the log X feet off the ground then they come in and remove the root burl and wood. I have never done this but it is done and if you are in teh right place at the right time there is more money there than the trees and you get the stumps gone.
