Computer Dialed Cell phone messages !!

........... I started receiving computerized cell phone messages on my Virigin Mobil phone for "second notice of vehicle warranty coverage " . There 2 a day so far ; so I registered my cell number with the no call website . They say it takes 31 days to become effective .
...........Was just wondering IF anyone else is receiving UNsolicited messages on their cell phone ? , thanks , fordy

I've had a few, and a few txt messages that unsubscribed to, and my phone is listed on the regular and cell no call lists.

Better check your bill, I was being charged 10 cents for everyone of those messages I received. I called Sprint and had text messaging blocked and they canceled the charges on the texts.
Hey I'm an old geezer, I don't even know how to text and have no desire to learn, the cell phone is in my pocket at all times for a reason, if you want to talk to me call me, don't text, If I recognize your number and feel like talking I'll answer, otherwise leave a message.

.............It really Irks me too pay for a service , and then , for them , too allow these UNsolicited , computer generated messages to call my number ! And , I flunked typing in High school so I hate text messaging , lol . I sent a firm but nice message to Virgin Mobil informing them That "I" want these UNsolicited messages too stop , and I also sent them the dates and phone numbers as well ! Probably won't do any good but they charge me 10 cents a piece . Surely , they can manage their phone company for the customers or , are WE just chopped liver ? Who knows . , fordy

I figure if enough people cancelled their cell phone services over these calls and charges something would be done. The phones I have are solely for MY purposes and nobody else's, and that is what I pay for. Whoever gave these guys the rights to breach that and even worse, that I would have to pay for it? Irks me no end.

Got this email from a friend saying it works but haven't tried it yet: call 888-382-1222 to go on a 'do not call' list for cell phones.

The car warrantee is a scam that tries to get your credit card #. I tracked it down on google (using the phone# which is in Portland OR) and found a site called "Who's calling me.com" or something close. It has 7 pages of complaints from people who get this call repeatedly, daily in some cases as I did. What a way to make a living.

Are they just randomly dialing numbers? I get one of those warranty calls on my cell phone about every two or three weeks but I have noticed that they are coming more frequently lately.

................Diane , I rece'd 4 different calls , on , 10-1 , 10-2 , and 10-3 ; form 3 different numbers ! 207-723-4363 , 732-727-0395 , 440-946-5970 ; now , there are websites where multiple posts are recorded by people who have also been called . With google they are easy to find . I emailed Virgin Mobil and reported these calls and haven't rece'd any since 10-3 , so I don't know if they were stopped or , they just haven't dialed my number again . They have had multiple complaints filed against them and , yet they are still making calls . , fordy

We kept getting this calls also but they stopped after we signed up with the do not call.gov site. The latest ones we are getting now are telling us that our bank debt card is cancelled. Call the bank every time we get one, (about 3 or 4 a week) but they really don't seem to be able to do anything about it. They told me that our bank here wasn't the only bank around here that was being targeted and as long as I didn't give them any information and just hung up I "should" be safe. Kinda gives me the creeps.

Adding your cellphone to the Do Not Call list does ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD in this situation... it will not stop these calls. It only works for legit companies, and this is some sort of fraud scheme. They don't care how many complaints they get, because they're just trying to steal your money or identity or whatever.

(I started getting these calls months ago, and I signed up on the donotcall.gov website and it did nothing! That was over 3 months ago and I'm still getting just as many calls as I was before).

................Probably have better response by calling the phone company and hold them accountable , as they are the ones responsible for the quality of their phone service . , fordy

I am thinking that because they are not good companys but scams, no one can really do anything about them. They don't even know who they are calling, just dialing numbers hoping for a taker. My land line is on the do not call list and I still get the same type of calls on that line. I get warranty calls, problems with my credit card calls, etc. Since I only have one credit card that gets paid off at the end of each month and I know all about my truck warranty, I just hang up as soon as I realize it is one of those calls.
