Ever replaced an ignition switch on a Kubota?

I have a Kubota L3410 and I think I need to replace the ignition switch. I finally replaced the battery after 9 years. This morning I tried to start the tractor and it was very sluggish. I turned it off and tried again. Nothing happened. There were no lights on the dash, no click, Nothing. The flashers nor headlights will work without the key being on so nothig works. I tried jumping and still nothing. Therefore, I think it must be the ignition switch and it looks like a major task. Any help will be appreciated.

Check fuses. Do some trouble shooting with a meter first.

Hey Bubba

You should post this in Shop Talk- though the shop guys do pick up the posts from here also.

My Tractor has started every time since I cleaned up all of the connections!
Also- my Ford Service Manual gave specific ohmmeter resistance values for the various posts on the cylinder of the ignition switch- maybe Kubota has this info.

When did you replace the battery?

If the engine at least tried to turn over, I wouldn't be in a hurry to change the ignition switch without checking lots of options. Loose connections, alternator combined with a bad booster cable, etc.

Haven't changed the switch on a Kubota, but I've done JD, White, AC, Deutz, on most modern tractors it's a 5-10 minute job, but not worth doing if that isn't the problem.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll start at the battery and work backwards. I just finished pulling and replacing the radiator so surely this can't be too hard.
