Finding rental in Florida

Mr GBov has an interview next week - fingers crossed - but we will have to go into rental for a few months to start off and I have had no luck finding anything other than holiday homes on the net. Does anyone know how to go about finding a proper home to rent with a bit of land in the Lakeland/Winterhaven area?

Something like a double wide on a half to two acres costing a bit less than the national treasury LOL

Thanks heaps

Thanks guys I knew I could count on you

He has his phone interview tomorrow but wanted to rework his figgures on what rental would cost us. Over here in Ireland the tax is done a bit different so he is having trouble coming up with a final figure to ask for so is stressing a bit but then, he would stress anyway lol

Thanks again, I'll let you know how it goes

Craigslist for sure as well.

For taxes... assume on the safe side that 33% of your gross is going to be taken away in taxes and you will get 66% net.

It's not fail proof, but it's a solid general guideline that you can do some math with.

If you decide to buy in that area I have a home for sale in Lakeland. Not really a good homesteading house though, but it's fairly new. We had to move to Georgia because of a military move, so right now we have renters in it, but would love to sale it.

Thanks for the offer Sonshine, but we are looking for something for me to mini homestead while Mr. GBov is out earning a living lol

Another question for all you smart people, is there a way for me to look at just houses for sale that have land instead of wadeing my way through thousands of houses trying to find the ones with 5+acres because I have been at it for hours and have only found a handfull of even possibles.

Oh, have I mentioned he wants to buy now instead of rent :banana02:

I'd contact a real estate agent in the area and have them look for you.

on realtor.com you can go to advanced search/lot size and specify 5+acres.
