propane tank question

Should a propane tank always be upright during use?

Yes, otherwise you'll be delivering liquid propane to your appliances.

Actually it is a propane weed burner, and I put the tank on a cart. Bungied it upright, then wondered if that was required.

Thank you!

Depends upon your weed burner. I used to use one that was designed to burn liquid LPG so the bottle had to be upside down.

Coils at the head of the torch which the propane was piped through were heated by the flame in order for the liquid to vaporize properly. The six foot long handle was hardly long enough to keep from getting enough radiant heat to continue. I seem to recall it as a 2.5 million BTU torch.

Here is a link to a 2 million BTU one by the same company.
