the eden pure heater

as I have posted before I am trying to heat a trailer with an add on room.

Anyone here ever hear of an eden pure quartz infrared portable heater? It says you can use it as a stand alone heater. I am always leary about stuff like this you get in the mail, but thought I would run it by you guys.

Thanks for the help

You have every right to be leary. The device will heat and the utility bill will heat a second time when the bill arrives.

Its just a VERY expensive electric heater. If you trust them being left on when you are gone Just about any small heater will do exactly the the same. If i was going with electric i would go for a plenum heater or An electric thermal storage (ETS) system

Spend your money on insulation. Then when you are away, leave the (inexpensive) electric heater off (or down, if you're in a very cold climate). If you are well insulated then the space will heat up very quickly when you get back and turn it on (or up).

Help us out here a little. How big is the trailer, and is it a travel trailer or a mobile home? How big is the add-on room? Is there any existing heat in the trailer? Are you trying to heat the trailer and the add-on room, or just the add-on room? What's your climate like (what's your general location)? Is this your permanent residence where you will be all the time, or is it a vacation home?

We bought one last year, and it works nicely. Doesn't get hot on the case at all, so safe around pets and children. HOWEVER, our electric bill doubled. I need to get out the paperwork from last year's taxes and check to see if the house meter went up due to useage during the time we used the heater or not. You can get a reconditioned model right now from them for half what the new one costs, 199 I think. They have never answered me, either on where to buy more quarts bulbs or have the unit serviced if need be. Jan in Co
