Looking for some tractor guidance - Kubota L235

I recently looked at a Kubota L235 / GST with about 1400 hours on it. I do not know the year. It has apparently been kept outside, because the sheet metal has quite a few rust spots on it. However, although the rest of the tractor had a little surface rust -- it looked pretty clean. It has no loader and no attachments.

I have some questions:

1. assuming there are no major problems with the tractor, is $4000 a fair price?

2. What questions should I ask the owner?

3. When I go to actually give it a "test drive", what can I check to make sure it is mechanically sound?

4. Can I put a FEL on that tractor?

Thanks!

Is this the tractor you're talking about?

4,000 is not a great price but a good one. Ask the owner what kind of oil it uses and if it has been overhauled. When you test drive it put it through all gears and use the hydraulics. It will only have a 3 point hitch in all probably. Use the PTO in both positions. Look for oil leaks. check the transmission fluid and engine oil water and such just like you were going to work it all day Just about everything else you will find out later. Yes you can put a front end loader on it. Kubota has a front end loader for all tractors they make.
