Ag Expo 9/13 Carroll Cty Ohio - Joel Salatin speaking

Here is the website with the details:

http://www.carrollswcd.org/expo.html

Joel Salatin will be speaking.

If anyone from the board is interested in staying over at our place that Saturday night, give us a shout. We are about 15 minutes south of the farm where the expo is being held.

We will definitely be there. By the way, do you know what the cost is? We will just drive in from Morrow County.

There is no cost to get in Mike. There will be things to buy there though. For example, we bought some plugs innoculated for ----ake mushrooms (enjoying them now). Vendors for everything from fencing to outdoor wood furnaces to timber services. FCS usually has a booth.

Last year there was an excellent workshop early in the morning on managing a woodlot.

This is what used to be called "country living day".

Wow. Looks like fun. It isn't that far away either. I might just try and come.

I just saw this and Saturday is Cale's birthday. Might make a nice day trip. I will definitely be thinking seriously about coming!

A fun time was had by all. Bill, Katy and DW are down by the front lake fishing while for a bit.

We caught both of Joel Salatins presentations and I bought a couple of his books.

Saw people I know (nobody else from the board). We were trying to figure out if Melissa and Cale were there...no luck.

Attendance was down because of the weather.

We were there! I had your phone number with me, but no cell phone service. We walked around the displays from 10-11 am then caught Joel's first presentation. We could not stay for the second one but really enjoyed listening to him.

Posted a few pictures on my blog, did not get many as it was rainy and my camera does not take good pictures in the dark.

I'm sorry we missed you guys. Joels second presentation was more "philisophical" than his first one. Nobility of farming and getting the kids into it, etc.

I did buy some of his books over at the pasture tent.

If you noticed folks walking around with a Siberian Husky, that was us.
