Quick canning answer needed

Hi
I am presently cooking salsa to be canned. It is really runny and I want to thicken it up some without having to cook all day. Can I add tomato paste to thicken and still safely can? I presently have about 5 pints worth of strained tomatoes with a mix for saesoning and 1/2 C vinegar. I plan on water bath canning this. Thanks for any help.

Not sure how much paste that would take.... not to mention the added spices etc that would be needed. Best way to do it is double boil or crockpot all day to thicken it up.

I've used tomato paste from the start. You will have to add more spices to taste.

My salsa recipe makes about 6 pints. I add 2 - 3 cans of paste - we like it really thick!

I always add paste to my spaghetti sauces and salsas. Makes the tomatoes go a bit further and...takes alot less time on the stove.
