Hail Storm!

On Sunday, some wicked storms came through our area. The biggest problem was, a major hailstorm. We rarely see hail here, and if so, just for a few minutes. This one started, and the hail just kept coming and coming, big hailstones from the size of a quarter to almost golf-ball. It was a sickening feeling watching out my window as my beautiful vegetable garden was battered and shredded. I don't know if any of my plants will survive this, and produce again. We were really enjoying the garden this year. All ruined in 15 minutes. Our neighbors even had dents in their car! Of course, local farmers are worse off than us, we only lost our personal garden. This is an area that grows many vegetable crops and peaches, which were all just ready for harvest. Here is an article about what happened. The power of nature is awesome, for good and for bad.

I know we understand the feeling. We only had small hail the size of peas the other day, but the week before it was the quarter to golf ball sized. It ore the devil out of our tomato plants, but I think most will survive.. I also have dents and small chips on the hood of my truck from the hail...
