My husband might be interested, he's got 44 acres out in West Texas. Send me an email.

I was going to suggest the caretaker.org website (Caretaker Gazette) too. It does cost something like $30 to subscribe to it, but I guess you could figure that--if you find the right opportunity, that amount is just a fraction of one month's rent. DH and I subscribed for a while years ago and there really were lots of listings, so I would say that we felt it was worth the $$. Good luck!

.................I wouldn't spend money on the caretaker gazette , not enough coverage , Signup with Workcamper.Com , cost you $42 for a full year and alot more positions listed as well as work camping job listings . , fordy

Fordy, that link isn't coming up. We just subscribed to the other one because I'd seen it recommended so many times and nothing else recommended When it came I was really disappointed in how small it was. Sounds like DH has decided to stay on where he is for another two yrs anyway but...

Signup with Workcamper.Com , cost you $42 for a full year --> fordy, Misty is looking for a caretaker position, not a Workcamper position, and you need a RV for workamping - so please give better advice next time. Thanks.

............If , you join , and study previous job postings what you'll find is that , there are a variety of listings , some of which , have openings where the employer furnishes your living quarters , which requires NO RV ! And , workampers is the main type of listing but not the Only catagory of listings ! For instance there was a listing for gate guards , which is what I'm doing currently . , fordy

Oceanmist, check Craigslists in the area you are looking in also, I see a few ads in ours for caretakers.

Thanks for that insight. It will be a few more years for us but we'd like to do some touring of the US this way.
