Help with weedeater

Possibly with the lawnmower too.

We have a Poulan gas weedeater. The cord broke on it. My husband has a diagram of the parts but can't acually get the thing open to change the cord. Does anyone know how to do it?

As for the mower. The deck is crooked. It would sometimes catch against the back tire on the right if I was backing while turning one direction. About a month ago the basket was taken off to fix something else. Every since, I just about can't back up. How do I fix it?

I really should just order a schythe. DH doesn't want to but he's not the one taking care of the lawn.

Thanks in advance

The crooked deck sounds like someone forgot to replace a spring or either it come off. If you have a diagrahm you can find the part thats missing. The broken cord can be fixed but theres a spring that recoils the cord that will fly out and hurt someone if they don't know what they are doing. Might be safer to take it to a mower repair place. Just my two cents though, Eddie
