Getting Rid of BAGWORMS!

Hi, dh wanted me to look into ways to get rid of the bagworms that are invading his little cedar trees. Last year the kids and I picked them off (about 50 trees) but it seems they came back with a venegance this year! He tried seven dust and it didn't work so I was wondering if anyone had any success stories of a sure fire way to get rid of these little pestilence! Thanks.

My neighbor has had good luck with spraying with (I THINK....) Sevin.

I have a zillion cedar trees and GLADLY invite the little beggers to come and kill ALL of them. Nothing but WEEDS......

We had a huge infestation last year. Put out 'trichograma wasps' (this is where I get my screen name!) Not ONE new bag worm this spring! These beneficials work for inch worms too.

We had a huge infestation last year also. Done 2 things, 1. we hung suet feeders out in the pines for the woodpeckers who also just happen to like to eat bagworms. 2. We bought a product called Dipel from the feed store. It is a natural product that only kills the caterpillers. Doesn't hurt bees, birds, lifestock etc. These 2 deterrents seem to be working for us.

If you spray, you are supposed to wait until night to spray when they crawl back into the web - more effective that way.

P. Allen Smith says that is a good solution.
