Help Identifying a leatherwork machine (1pic and a link)
Decades ago I bought this treadle machine at a farm auction. After all this time I've decided to try to identify it as to maker or other information on it.
It's a leatherworkers machine. treadle, obviously. The only markings on it are on the iron work. "Patent Elastic" on the round bit, the treadle says "polytyp<and a letter i can't identify clearly" and Emil James N.Y. (which we think is either the person this was cast for, or the guy who owned the foundry.
works and all, I'm just curious about it. Any thoughts or pointers?
