gnats\flies

We have a bizillion flies or big gnats,anyone else having this experience?
We have no animals or anything that would attract them.
There are like tons of them flying around in the air.

Big gnats - might be fungus gnats. Have you had a lot of rain?

I have noticed a lot of bugs as well.. they seem to just hang in a spot and flitter around each other.. you can see them in huge groups throughout the yard. And here.. heavy drought and in the mountains in very high elevation I have seen them too... they are kinda pretty when the sun shines through them.. all sparkly and glittery...

I wear a sprig of lemon balm or basil etc.. some pungent herb in my hat when I am out in the yard to keep them away from my face.

Yep I think that's it.
I goggled it and seem to be the culprits,they are dieing off for the most part as it is drying out now.

thats what we have here as well, so much rain. and going to have it this week end as well. terrible, and yes, we have those little gnats, drive ya crazy for sure.
