Refrigerator Repair - I'm getting good at It.

Twice in the last 6 months I have had the small fan that sits in the back wall of the freezer compartment go bad and the refrigerator stop cooling. Its not a hard repair, but if you have a problem with your refrigerator maintaining good temps you should check to see if this fan is running and if it isn't replace it.

Yucca,

I could have used you here today. Just had the appliance repair guy out to work on the fridge. Seems the relay to the compressor went wonky and the whole thing just stopped cooling. Fortunately resetting the electronics got it working again, if it hadn't it would have been a $600 repair for a new computer part.

I swear, these new fridges (this one is only 3 years old) are way more trouble then they are worth.

My Mom has an old fridge from back in the 70's and that thing still runs great. The parents moved it out to the garage when they had the kitchen remodeled to use as a back up, and that has been a life saver more then once. The new, expensive, top of the line fridge they had installed has needed more repairs then my 15 year old jeep.
