Anyone Else Hate to Grill?
Or am I just odd....
I LOVE grilled food but HATE to use the grill. If we have any grilled food, my wife grills it (it's her grill.......).
Niether one of us is much into camping - I did too much "camping" in the USMC - but if we were, I'd starve before I'd use the grill.
Now my brother uses one of his many grills practically every day - all year. I have actually seen him grill in the parking lot of a restraunt....
I must not have gotten that gene....
Anyone else feel the same way?

I love it too, year round.
I once lived in a condo for a couple of years and was none too pleased when they made me take my grill off the porch for winter

I don't mind using it.. I am just that that big of a grilled food fan.
I love the smell of grilling peppers and onions... HATE the taste.
I love the smell of grilling meat, but only find it okay to eat. Too bad for me because we are grilling everything we eat these days because of the heat!

??? You're supposed to clean them? I just lift the lid during the summer gully washers.

use it year round to save on electric bill. Also it's kinda healthy to cook food on the grill.

I wouldn't know! My husband loves to grill, and he'll say, no, honey, let me cook tonight! I am allowed to make side dishes, though, if he's not grilling the veggies too.

Clean by building a big hot fire in it or turning the gas up, depending on which kind of grill you have. Then scrape the grill itself.
Fire is all the cleaning that's needed.:banana02:

I grill even when it's raining. I'll be out there with an umbrella making sure the coals do get drowned, LOL.
I was out of charcold yesterday and got up some branches from a maple tree and grilled steaks. Cheap steaks,, mine you. We eat the chuckeye steaks when they have them and just chuck steaks when they don't.
Chuckeyes are the pour mans Ribeyes, LOL.
Every now and then we will get some N.Y. Strips, if we have the extra money, which isn't often, but I slice them down the center and fill them with saute'ed mushroons, onoins and peppers and sew them back up with tooth picks. Season them on the inside ond out, fill them to the helt and boy are them things good. Melt in your mouth if you cook them just right.
I don't think it takes more than a minute on either side too long and they will be tuff. Got to cook them fast on a hot grill.
But to answer your question, no, I love to grill. I have even grilled when iot was snowing, LOL.
My problem now is my DD has taken over the grill. Maybe she got your gene that got lost somewhere, LOL.

I love it. I've always been a charcol purist. I stayed away from gas grills until last year -- thought it just wasn't 'right' -- finally got talked into it last year and love it. I grill 2 or 3 times a week - year round -- ok, its Texas, so we don't get the winters most of you do.

I don't care much about grilling... but I love to barbeque. I used to say that if I wanted to cook with gas, I'd just cook on the stove in the house. (Of course I'm now stuck with an electric stove for awhile, dang it.)
Wood is where it is at... Mesquite wood (I'm from Texas, so I have to say that.) Indirect heat, smoke rings on the meat an inch thick.
Good stuff.
