Any Pa. Conceal Carry holders here?

Seems like it's pretty easy to get your CCW permit in Pa. Anyone here carry in Pa?

seedspreader,

I don't, but I think several do where I work. What is it that you would like to know? Maybe I could ask someone.

I know getting the permit is easy, I just was going to ask about the general atmosphere of other Pennsylvanians toward those who CC.

It's still fairly easy to get a CCW permit in Pa., as long as you don't have a criminal or drug background. You just go the sheriff's office of the county you live in and pick up an application and fill it out. I think you have to be a resident of that county for a certain period of time, 6 months, a year, I'm not sure on that. When checking the area for your reason for carrying, check self defense, and that covers all. When filled out, just go back to have them process it and do a background check. There is a fee, here in Northampton county it's $35.00. If you do a google search on your county's sheriff office it should show ccw permit where you can download it so you can see it.

Texas here, and yes i do. Every state should actually be s shall carry and not a shall issue. Alaska is ahead of the curve. Gun training should start at a 4th grade level imho. If you wanna be a passivist them you should sign a waiver at 18 years of age for DNR to be put on your drivers license under your organ donor info. DnR = Do Not Revive ( I turned the other cheek and now im toast )......

Most people feel comfortable with it and don't get all worked up, of course they can't see it either! This is a pro gun state with alot of hunters and guns are a part of most people's lives, espically in the northern teir counties.

Hopefully that will continue after one of those idiots gets elected. (Party neutral)

How about MO?

Now I'm wondering if there are any folks who CC in MO.

The only thing that bothers me is you have to have a permit to carry. Don't know why that bugs me, but it does...

Oh waitaminit. I know why. I don't need a permit for any other rights. Well, most of 'em, anyway.

I'm not in PA, but if the weapon is concealed, how would people have an attitude about it? I've carried at work over a year and nobody knows (KelTec 380 auto in pouch in front pocket).

If someone finds out, I'll explain I'm there to defend them when someone goes "postal" after being fired or whatever. Had to fire a guy a couple weeks ago and he made some somewhat threatening comments - fortunately he later apologized.

Two miles from here is Fairchild Air Base. An airman had been discharged for mental health reasons. He came back to the hospital annex building and shot the psychiatrists, then went over to the hospital taking out people at random. And of course, nobody had a gun for defense, despite being a military site.

This happened in 1994, and I transferred there in 1996, to the same building where the psychiatrists were shot. Got to hear stories of people barricading doors, looking out the window helplessly watching people being gunned down in the parking lot, etc.

Finally a young Security Police on bicycle showed up and made a lucky shot to take him out.

These events fortunately are rare, but would be more common if people didn't have to wonder if guys like me are packing.

The permit is for concield carry not open carry. You only need a permit for concield carry. When I come to MO I carry and have found most of the law enforcement have respect for theos that have a permit.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread, seedspreader.

What does being a pacifist have to do with whether or not you should be resuscitated? There are plenty of ways for people to end up in the hospital that don't have anything to do with a person's attitude toward violence. Like accidents on the farm or homestead.

Yes, we have these rights. Whether or not we agree with it, there is nothing saying that we have to exercise these rights.

Now, back on topic. This reminds me that we need to check into what we need to do for a few guns that my husband inherited.

I have a ccw. I would prefer shall carry to shall issue. All Americans have the right to defend themselves. I have to carry 2(two) cards. One says I can drive, one says I can carry. I am an organ donor. I carry a G29. I believe it is an inalienable right to defend onesself anywhere anyplace anytime. It is no entities business whatsoever. If I am wrong in my said circumstance I will pay severely for said offence. It is the responsibility of all free persons to protect the innocent. whether with a firearm or CPR. Sorry to have upset you but that is what I was trying to convey. Our rights are being infringed upon and no one seems to give a freak these days. They just want pizza delivery and freakin football. Yet they bitch and they dont even vote in the first place. Soap box, ballot box, cartridge box. My apologies.

I am CCW holder in MO and carry daily. In PA you can also open carry without a permit but have to have one for concealed carry,

In MO you don't need a permit at all to carry a pistol in your vehicle. It's fine to stash one in your glove box or console. A lot of people don't get an actual CCW permit since they can carry one in that manner.

Having to submit to the rectal examination and go before the state as a supplicant so they "grant" you a right is degrading and makes me want to vomit. The very concept is abhorrent. They cost way to much too.

A problem for those in Missouri is that Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska don't recognize Missouri permits. You cross the border and forget you either have a weapon in your car or on your person and you're committing a felony. The real kicker is that Missouri recognizes Iowa permits as well as Nebraska permits but they won't do likewise. The Soviet Socialist Republic of Illinois don't offer one nor to they honor any.

Bob- down in the Warren area guns are just a part of life...LOTS of hunters..seems like everyone has several. Keep in mind it has been many years since I have lived there but my family lived there until about 5 years ago and thought nothing of carrying a concealed weapon with a permit..seems like a lot of people do.

I have both the Minnesota CCW permit and the Utah CCW permit. The Utah permit would allow me to carry in PA.

In PA you need a concealed permit to carry in the car...
NYS does not recognize a PA permit. PA will give a NYer a permit, but NY will not give one to a PAer.
Doesn't make sense.
