Hand pump for a shallow well
I have a shallow well, maybe 15 or 20 feet deep and maybe ten feet across. It has a thick cement cap over top. The house can use the well water, but it is iron/sulpher water (not for consumption) and I stopped using the well pump in the basement 5 years ago as the water stained everything a reddish-brown. I do want to use the water for the garden, and what I am looking for is one of the hand pumps you prime and pump the long handle to get the well water into a bucket or whatever. The cap have a hole in the center that would easily accomidate a one inch black water pipe thru the top, own into the well. I just don't know where to get a good pump at a reasonable cost. I've seen chnese made cast iron pitcher pumps, but they are so poor quality, their only good would be for flower garden decoration.
Any advise on finding a good pump cheaply?
