Thanks for the great link! We just bought 40 acres and are going to build on it where they aren't any trees. This will be quite helpful!

I just went there, and they say they've been overwhelmed with requests, and had to suspend the program. Hope it starts again!

NOTICE

Thanks to all of you who have ordered free seeds from us to plant in your community. The past 24 hours have been a period of unexpected and overwhelming amounts of seed requests, so we unfortunately have to suspend our free tree seed program until further notice. Our goal has been to plant one million trees with communities across the country and your help to plant over 3 million of our seeds is much appreciated, but we feel it would be unfair at this juncture to take requests for seeds we could not produce in a timely manner.

For those of you who have already ordered seeds, please have some patience. We are only two guys with a cross-country trip rapidly approaching so we're working diligently to fulfill your seed requests. Because our stock is limited, we will contact you if your request cannot be fulfilled within the next two months. If you have any questions about sowing or planting your seeds, please refer to the "Ask Rob" section of our discussion forums. Thanks for your support and enjoy the seeds when they arrive!

You don't need to plaint seed when you can buy seedlings from your State Forestry Nursery. You can get seedlings for your land at about $15 per thousand for pine or $25 per hundred for hardwoods. You may even be able to get a subsidy for planted them.

That would be nice but I don't think I can plant anymore trees on our property. We have about 30 pecan trees! :banana02:
