Troy-Bilt VersaTiller??? Opinions? Thoughts?

I have found a tiller for sale.

I really need to replace our antique tiller, which is on its last legs.

What are your thoughts, opinions and experiences with the Troy-bilt Versatiller?

It is in really nice shape, 5 horse, asking $300.

Thanks!!!
Clove

If it's an older one, I'd snap it up. If it's newer (MTD) I'd run as fast as I could the other way.

I've had my Troy-Bilt Pony for 20 years. Have only needed to replace the tines.

I'm not sure which of their tillers is the versatiller, but I sure do love my pony

troy built used to be the standard by witch all other tillers were judged
this ended when it was bought out by MTD / garden way inc

i would take a very seriose look at a simplicity 7016 rear tine tiller i have one bought it 3 or 4 years ago for 800 new they are sold by dealers not department stores they are a very simple solid desine. and they come with the brush gaurd and hiller standard.

GreenCountyPete,
Do you rent your tiller?

Do you have a small tractor and would you be willing to rent it out?

I need both in New Glarus ASAP...

My very old troybilt horse died last year and I haven't had time to replace it. Transmission was going out and then the engine blew because of it.

We purchased 400 trees this month and now my old Ford 600 tractor has decided it needs TLC before it will perform any more work this year. I have a post hole digger but no tractor.

About 40 assorted berry bushes are coming next week as well. So the garden needs tilling as soon as it dries up.
