Another newb

I'm very happy to have found your site I've been looking for one like this for ages! I'll try to be brief. I've travelled this great country most of my adult life and spent most of my free time outdoors! Now Im just looking for a few (as many as I can afford) forrested acres. Also a modest cabin is needed.
I look forward to learning everything I can from you good folks on how to become self-sufficient. As a hiker and camper I learned to take nothing but pictures and leave only footprints and Id like to learn to expand that phillosophyfurther into my lifestyle.
Thank you in advance,
Night Watch

Although I'm a relative newbie here myself, WELCOME!! Much like you I'm here to learn. Thankfully there are many willing to share great advice.

Welcome. Hope you find what you are looking for in land. Don't forget some cleared space for a garden if you want to be selfsustaining.

Welcome to the forums. A few forested acres eh? Well you can get land pretty reasonable in Kansas, and seedlings are available from the Kansas Forest Service as conservation trees. That would make for a do it yourself kit, placing the kinds of trees where you prefer them and of the species you prefer. How about----welcome to Kansas?

Again, welcome! Feel free to take advantage of all of the forums with your queries, thoughts, and knowledge. Windy in Kansas
