Price For T-Posts

What is the price for a 6 foot T-Post in your area?

I was surprised to find them under 3 dollars locally at the country store.

I grit my teeth and took it last summer at $3.00 each, saw an ad a month ago at 3.25, hate to think what they are at now. Everything seems to be becoming pretty precious, even a darn old fence post.

Don't know what 6 footers are going for but I just paid nearly $6 each for 8 foot posts.

The price is so high - they must think they're made out of gasoline, or something.

That's EXACTLY why I scrounge for used, 40 year old posts....

We have found quite a few here around the place. Looks like the local guy was telling the truth when he said he was only making 18 cents per post.

DH works at TSC and told me just the other day that the price had jumped on their t-posts. If you need them, get them now before the price jumps more. :-(

Bought just a few a couple of weeks ago. Think I paid $3.69 for them, I know it was over $3.50. Just needed half a dozen or so to string electric around the garden and keep out the deer.

There's a HUGE difference in quality of t-posts. There are thin easily bendable ones and cheap (heavy low-grade steel) ones from Mexico. The best ones right now (made in U.S.) are running about $3.50 each from the local wholesale fence supply.

We put an add on craigslist or something not too long ago and we found a man with used posts that he is pulling up off his property. We are getting them for 1.50 a piece. Have to pick up another 150 of them on Monday.

We have 2 types, lightweights and heavyweights. The heavies are $1 more than the lights. The lights are currently $2.98.

I ran across about 50 t posts at a sale that were made of stamped steel. Weirdest things I've ever seen. I'm not sure how you'd drive them into anything but soft loam and a cow reaching under the wire to get at grass on the other side would probably bend the things.

I wonder if they were made to use with electric fencing wire?

Can't get any T posts within ten miles. Maybe within thirty miles, though.

$8.95 each - volume discount available either

I checked and they weren't gold plated (that's sarcasm in case anybody wonders...)
