Awhile ago, I posted on the Cattle forum, seeking a home for a blind Holstein heifer who resides on the farm where I work in SW PA. I have been trying, on behalf of the owner, to place her with a family, as blind cows general do not work out well in a freestall barn/milking parlor situation.
Lo and behold, an animal rescuer in NE PA is willing to give this sweet girl a good, lifelong home! (Her website is:
www.indraloka.org.) The only hitch is that neither she or I have a trailer to transport the heifer across the state, or experience in doing this safely.
So I am looking for someone with a truck and trailer who would be willing to lend a hand, either as a volunteer or for a fee. In either case, I also will be seeking donations (and, realistically, putting up some cash of my own

) to cover the cost.
Can anyone help us?
BTW, the heifer is about 8 months old, and still small enough to ride comfortably in an ordinary horse trailer!
I'm hoping the trip can be made as soon as possible.
Thanks!
