A Real Farm Group

I was wondering if there was group out there that actually looks out for the small farmer/homesteader? Yes I know we have the Farm Bureau and The Farmers Union but don't care for either one of those. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any groups out there that support the homesteader/small farmer ideal of letting us care for our land and grow what we like with little government intervention, the two above sure don't follow and push for that course. What I'm asking is there any groups will let us farm/homestead how we see fit and aren't cosy with big agribusiness.

Don't really "get" what you are looking for, but there is some protection in the farm to consumer legal defense group. Anybody have that info?

There's the National Organic group; in the NorthEast it is called "NOFA". Has slightly different names depending upon the area of the country. They help farmers only. There is a USDA small farm newsletter run by Bud Kerr. ldc

After about 50 years of this, I get the impression that we're pretty much on our own. Farm Bureau treats us as an inconvenience on a good day and a pariah on a bad day.

I tend to agree with the previous poster; the 'net gives us more cooperative power than we've ever had before. Now, if we could manage it into an electronic Grange, that would be something...

Thank you for the link, I will look farther into tht group. I was more curious than anything. I guess that I wished that there was a group that would speak up for the small guy and to express that we just want to be left alone to do as we please on our farms/homesteads.
