Has anyone heard of "Lazier" crocks?

I had a friend who use to collect them, he has since passed away. I was in an antique store yesterday and saw a bunch of crocks, some were $100 Canadian funds, some $300 and there was a "Lazier" (that was the name printed on it) crock that was $750. Does anyone know much about these kind of crocks, they are from around Belleville, Ontario. Just curious about them and why they would be so darn expensive. Thanks Chris
