wht kind of dog is this?

sorry if I'm not supposed to post this here. erase if neccessary. I think he is a gun dog of some sort. he has webbed feet. I'm hoping to find a hunter or breed rescue to take him and it would help if I knew exactly what he was. He looks like the pictures of a red picardy spaniel but that is supposed to be a rare breed so it seems unlikely that that is what he is. of course he could be a mix too. If anybody wants him he is free to a good home. Great with kids. probably not a dog to have access to livestock though since he is a hunting breed or mix. I'm in NE oklahoma.

Golden retriver with a dash of Greyhound. Looks like a mighty hunting dog. You can just sic it on something, and it will outrun it and fetch it back to you. Either on dry land or water.

I see golden retriever (in the face) and setter (long legged, speckled, and the general body shape). Too lean for an aussie, I think. Is the tail docked or just looks like it? Lots of people dock gun dogs' tails to avoid it catching brush.

Pretty dog, I hope you find a home for him. He looks like he might be middle-aged or senior dog? Did you have a look at his teeth?

Anyhow, good luck with him!

he is likely under a year old, I don't know how to tell teeth count wise but they are bright white, he acts very puppy like, the white just makes him look grisled and old in the face. his tail isn't docked he just wasn't real sure about the whole leash and picture thing and has it tightly tucked. I can't keep him I'm already going through 160lbs of dog food a month. ackkk$$$$$$$

Another that thinks he is an English setter maybe an English cocker spaniel; they look about the same to me.

Definitely looks like a setter to me. Google pictures of English Setters, you should see the similarity.

If you are feeding him 160 pounds of dog food a month, you are over feeding him. I am feeding 4 dogs on a lot less than that, and 2 are big dogs. I used to have an English mastiff who didn't eat that much.

ha ha . I'm feeding him and 5 other dogs two of which are over 100lbs the others are medium to large in the 50-70lb range. you were being silly right? you didn't really think I was feeding him 160lbs of dog food a month did you? I really hate feeding crappy food full of corn and as long as I can swing it I'll buy the decent dogfood.

still think he looks remarkabley like this but it is prob just a weird cross coincidence. this is a red picardy spaniel.

Check out the first picture on this page.

http://www.irishfieldsports.com/gundogs/english.htm

I think Picardy Spaniels tend to have more of a dark background to their coat, while this dog has a light colored background. Just my opinion though. And with a few years of breeding strictly for hunting ability, all the gun dogs tend to look different from what you see in a show. I think it is a field bred Setter, or a cross on one.
