with our chicken wastes, we use it when you can't smell it (unless it gets wet)
if you till it under, give it a good watering, then when it is dry enough to plant - it shouldn't burn plants. I wouldn't put seeds in it right away - somewhere along the way it does seem to affect carrots.
the corn,beans and peas are ok tho - they seem to like the higher nitrogen
