Recycled satellite dish

Last year about this time I posted a pic of the modified satellite however the plant was rather scrawny. The Jasmine has had a year to grow and I would like to share this bit of Spring with everyone.

That is the first time I have seen a West Virginia State Flower with actual vegetation. Looks great.

Nice trellis!

Here's my satellite dish recycling. And some porch a friend took off her house, and some broken concrete from the pasture where an old barn once stood. This whole thing cost me Very Little.

I saw one that was made into a large fish pond once, with waterfall and everything. Worked very well and looked great!

I just love that. When we moved we took the old antennae off of the roof.. you know the ones.. bigger than big..I plan on growing beans or roses or something on it this year.. I am leaning towards beans..

That is beautiful. I have mine filled with water, the goats and llama use it for a water trough, and there are a few goldfish/minnows in it. Have been given another one, don't know when they will bring it here....will put it in the garden and make another fish pond with it. I fill the holes with liquid nails, has held up quite well.

chickenista, have you ever grown Luffa? It is a neat plant and would do great on your trellis.

These are some great ideas! I love the trellis, and would love to find an antenna to make a gazebo with; that gazebo looks awesome!

Those are awesome
I flipped mine the other way and use it as a large planter for flowers each year. It makes weeding very easy as it is up off of the ground and easy to mow around. I have another one but don't know where to put it.

Super ideas! I have one of the large mesh dishes out in the overhang of the barn, wondering what to do with it. I was going to flip it over and put small legs on it, use it in the chicken pen for a shady spot for them, but now I have visions of a trellis with wisteria.......

Wow, I have both a huge old sat dish AND an old roof antenna out behind the barn! Now I know what to do with them. 1 bean (or flower, maybe) trellis, and one roof, coming up!

Agmantoo et Cheribelle,

Nice going.

I could envision Agmantoo's idea supporting a grape vine...

Rocky, I have a different and much larger trellis for muscadine grapes. The variety of muscadines I grow are scuppernongs. This grape is and its production are my favorite item I grow. Next time I get the battery eating camera I have out, I will take a photo and post the grape pic. In case you are not familiar with muscadines you can see the type I have on the main page here. http://www.isons.com/ These are great people to do business with and they have a quality product.

I LOVE this gazebo, and will now be searching Craigslist for a Huge old Satellite antenna, so I can have one too!
