Termites in stump, burn them out?

I just noticed that a termite colony has taken hold of a pine tree stump I have in my front yard. I had a wooden birdhouse sitting on it and when I lifted it up, they had burrowed into the treehouse and they were under it. Saw some with wings and others which were the light colored regular termite. Im thinking of dousing the stump in deisel fuel and setting it on fire. Been wanting to get rid of the stump anyways. Just want to make sure that is a good idea and once I lite it, they arent going to burst out of the stump and to my house. Stump is probably only 30 ft from my house. So, good idea or not?

Build a chicken yard around it and kiss those dudes goodbye.

If you have chickens, guineas, geese of turkies show them the buffet table. I've found termites in wood down in th epasture I was cutting up for firewood. I'd bring it up to the chickens pen and fill 'em up! :1pig:

Termites will eat the stump down to pretty much nothing in a couple of seasons. If your home is treated, I wouldn't worry about the termites.

My chickens and guineas feast on em each year about this time...
