need ramp for step van

Ideas please! I have a step van that's about 30" high and I need a ramp to load/unload wire shelving units on wheels. It needs to have at least a 20" (no more than 38") wide deck and be at least 6' long. The weight load will be about 500 lbs. and it needs a solid or tight mesh deck. It also needs to be light enough that I can handle it by myself.

I've found several ramps, but it seems the ones that will work start at $400 and go up to $2,000 - way out of my price range. I've checked dog ramps, wheelchair ramps, utility ramps, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can use or how to do this?

Perhaps an Aluminum ATV ramp?
Something like... http://www.truckstuffusa.com/bifoldrampbylund.html

Or this site has comparison shopping for ramps and prices, pics, weight ratings, etc.... http://www.nextag.com/ramp-for-atv/search-html

Good Luck.

Thanks so much. Truck Stuff has the one I want, and that I might be able to afford. I wouldn't have seen it without you. Thanks again.

Doesn't sound like much more than a couple of pieces of angle iron and some extruded metal(wire mesh). A welding shop should be able to make one pretty easy for you.

Thanks, Beeman. I'll check that out as well.
