How long until your first cutting for hay season?

How long until you have your first cutting for hay season?

Are your balers and equipment ready to go?

What are you changing in your haying this year, if any?

What are you doing now to promote better growth in your hay fields?

We will be starting on first cutting the week or two prior to Memorial Day. At least that is the plan.

We had the Mower Conditioner serviced and adjusted by the local New Holland Dealer last month and the baler is ready to go also. We are looking at a new rake and a new tedder, but that won't happen unless we sell our Iowa farm before haying season starts.

We won't cut until the last week in June. Got a LONG time to make sure things are ready, but we greased everything and all before we put it away for the winter. I did buy a different sickle mower, so I'll be delving into it soon.....
