I doubt it has lactose in it since the part of the word "lact" means milk, as in lactation, and soy "milk" was certainly never a product of lactation. it is only called "milk" to try to get people to use it in place of actual milk. out of curiosity why would you want to feed soy milk to cats? ick.

Typically a cat would not search out nor eat soy if left to their own devises. It's not a healthy source of food for a cat. So a bi-product of soy would not be a healthy option either.

It's not so good for humans. Cats will drink it, but it probably isn't the best thing to give them....

The dairy industry has worked hard to make people fear soy. However, milk has actually been proven to cause heart disease, strokes and even some cancers. The same can be said... but not actually proven about soy.

Please provide examples of how the dairy industry has worked to make people fear soy.

Cats will eat and drink soy products, but it will make them gay.

I read about it somewhere on Worldnetdaily.com.

Then, you will have evil gay cats.

I lost a patient a few years back - its owner had been feeding it a lot of soy milk. He admitted that some of it had gone bad and he still gave it to the cat - not sure if the "gone bad" was what killed, or the fact that it was soy milk.

I sure wouldn't chance it.

Yes, I'm a veterinarian 26 yrs in practice). And I have practiced exclusively on cats for 17 years, FWIW.

I've read where food will kill you too... Not eating food will get you in trouble too....

Soy is bad for the environment... one of the major causes of global warming... and deforestation of the rainforests... Soy is the anti-green food.

Cats tolerate goat's milk just fine, or at least mine do. Why would you want to give a cat soy milk, anyway? I hope it's not as a substitute for actual food. Cats are carnivores, they need meat. I've seen where some people have forced a vegetarian diet on cats and dogs, but they aren't as healthy, and they don't live as long as animals fed the diet nature intended for them, which isn't soy.

Isn't goat's milk either, for that matter, but it worked well for me with orphaned kittens. This was years ago, when kitten milk replacement wasn't widely available.

Cats can eat all manner of corruption without ill effect. What would drop a full grown man a cat can scarf down without so much as a rumble of the stomach

That said without starving it first I doubt a cat would drink soy "milk".
