The electronic Rat Hotel - Reviews?

I saw some rat traps that work something like a roach motel - it's a box that the rodents go in and don't come out of.
I like this idea becasue they've gotten wise about conventional traps, and I can't safely put out poison.

It's kind of pricey so I wanted to know how effective they really are before I buy one.

Have any of you tried it?

re: The electronic Rat Hotel

Probably not the same thing, but maybe this will help.

I got a battery operated electric mousetrap from Wally World. It was also pricey, saw two versions in different stores priced from $15 to $20, depending on whether batteries were included or not. Finally caught one marked down to $6 (possibly a closeout sale.)

Anyway, it works great. It does away with the little critters without maiming or torturing them, and without any mess. Even got two mousies at once!

Only downside I noticed is the batteries don't last as long as advertised - says up to 50 kills, more like 6 - 8, but still a good deal in my mind.

Good luck!

Well, I didn't post because I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing and I'm no expert -- this is hearsay. My brother works for a big greenhouse operation and they have these black plastic squares a few inches high for mice. Mice being curious enter through small holes and inside it's like a maze and once they get to the middle they can't get out (well, maybe lab-trained mice could). I guess I figured they just died of starvation. (I've seen a few outside of restaurants -- at the back door of course.) Is this what you mean? The greenhouses have them because they can't use poison and can't have cats. I guess they must work or they'd have problems with vermin and the food safety people would shut them down.
