Possible Ebay Bargain BCS Tractor

For any of you in the Pennsylvania area that have wanted to own a BCS tractor with tiller attachment there is a unit currently on Ebay that may wind up a bargain.

Only a little over a day left and the bid is still below $115. Item #230233014963

Needs a little work but if it winds up selling as a bargain as current bids indicate you could put some bucks into it and came out way ahead. Even the tiller attachment alone might be a bargain. Looks like it needs tines indicating it was used quite a bit.

Keep in mind that it is one of the smaller units.

cant tell exactly what the seller is posting...sort of like trying to read the posts of a few posters here
he used a recoil from what...what?

i'll keep my eye on it though and see if it stays cheap.

The unit is a BCS two-wheeled tractor which can be used with many different implements and tools. The roto-tiller is just one available attachment.

I am under the impression that the recoil rope starter for the engine is bad so the seller used a spare one he has to see if it would start.

Here is a site that sells the tractors and attachments. I have spoken with Joel and he is a super nice guy and very accommodating to the extent possible from a distance.

I have used both a Troybilt tiller and the BCS tractor I own with tiller attachment and the BCS combo is by far easier to use and does a nicer job. Just my opinion and a few others that have posted with the same feelings about the BCS. Instead of belt drive the BCS uses gears and a clutch.

Years ago there was a good unit known and advertised as Mainline. BCS may have bought them out and made a name change, or they were very similar. Possibly a merge if not a buyout.

BCS Mainline has alway been there name. I think they just shortened it. The have been around since the 70's. Made in France I think. used in the vinyards. Excellent piece of equipment. We have a dealer here. A new one sell fro around 2800.00. wish I could afford one. By the way the handle bars swing around depending on what attachment you have on it

Made in Italy. The one I want (diesel powered) starts at over $4000, with no attachments yet. I watched the You tube videos of their rotary plow, and boy do I want one of those!!

It sold for $284. What a bargain for a two wheeled tractor and roto-tiller attachment.

i was watching the auction last night and i decided not to bid. i need a working tiller, but i think i will get a new motor for my troybuilt pony. i hope to be able to get a new one for under $400. i have no idea what the pig in the poke would have required, even if i would have ended up with a better machine. the BCS was only about 12-15 miles away, but i just didn't want to risk having two tillers in need of costly repairs.

Yep, that was a bargain for somebody. It can probably be put in great condition for a fraction of the price of a new one. I looked on the website, and just the 18" tiller attachment is $450.

I've had a 720 for 5 years now, and absolutely love it. The original Troy-bilts were very good tillers, though still not in the BCS class. The new ones by MTD are so much more cheaply made it's amazing. If you're familiar with the quality of the older ones, you can see the difference in the new ones at a casual glance.

Don't know if your a e-bayer but there is a guy called sel-lo. Out of Atlanta. i bought a new 18hp for 400 from him. You should be able to pick up a 5hp for way less. Check out Northern Tool too
